A smaller crew than usual was on site, but plenty still got done despite the steady, light rain that lasted most of the day. Things began with a bit of excitement when a wagon slipped off the rails on a curve, but with the site machine close by it was quickly put right.
Once that was sorted, the wagons in one shed were rearranged and uncovered, all found to be dry—though a couple of sleepy wasps were less than thrilled. An unrestored chassis was moved aside, and a rake of wagons was brought back into position, along with a van that had been stored elsewhere during the work. The new concrete floor really shows everything off well.
After lunch, several more vehicles were moved out of another shed, creating much more space for winter projects. The site machine was then used to load a completed compressor unit onto a flat wagon (Trecwn flat wagon TO 292), now safely stored under cover.
A couple of chassis were moved back into shelter, but the final two had to wait—one heavy chassis derailed right at the end of the day, and with everyone tired and the load too heavy to tackle safely, it was left for another session.
A wet but productive day, with a lot achieved by a compact team.
