The weather couldn’t quite make up its mind—sun one minute, a light shower the next—but nothing that stopped a productive day with a solid mid‑sized team.
Work continued on levelling the floor inside the new shed frame, using the mini‑digger and vibrating plate to firm everything down, including the fire‑exit route at the rear. Elsewhere, site machinery was used to shift debris from the top yard to the side of another shed, where it will help even out the ground before new surfacing goes in.
A bit more space was cleared in the yard, and we uncovered two old water tanks and a pair of gates that can be reused to form a proper entrance once new fencing is installed.
The replacement timber stanchion for a wagon had its new fixing holes drilled, and one of the sheds was opened up to help the fresh concrete cure. Painting on the boiler continued and is now looking impressively close to finished.
More spoil and stone were moved to tidy up the yard, and wagon cleaning carried on—revealing a surprisingly pristine works plate, a rare find on that type of vehicle.
Finally, the track area in the new shed was cleared, and spoil was dug out behind it to shape the future fire‑exit path. A varied and productive day despite the changeable skies.
