Cooler on site today with some cloud cover, though the air stayed warm and carried that distinctly thundery feel even if the rain never actually arrived. With a solid Wednesday team in, we kept momentum going across a range of projects.
It was a Kids Activity Day, so four trains were in operation and we carried 96 passengers, a very worthwhile effort and as ever lots of happy passengers. Its the Pirates Adventure Weekend this weekend so we expect to be busy again then too!
Before services began, the aluminium trims on the Dough wagon were cleaned down while another blue/grey topcoat went onto one end and both sides. Work continued with the painting inside museum shed 83C, and the second end Panel for wagon B10 was fully fixed in place with careful fabrication of suitable attachments, leaving it ready to return to shed 83A for floor, roof, painting and lettering – well its in the queue as the Dough wagon and the new Wickham Trolley are already in there and need to be finished.
Excavation, levelling and compacting of the area for the extended trackbed behind shed 83A were completed, along with sourcing a couple of suitable track Panels from the PW Yard.
Lighting installation progressed in the new container now that the temperature has dropped enough to make working inside bearable again.
A busy and productive day all round, with plenty achieved and good value delivered.
