Final Wall Panel Fitted, Wickham gets a Roof

A misty, damp but mild day allowed the team to keep working outdoors, even with a smaller group on site. The aim was to tidy up key projects before the Christmas break, and good progress was made.

The site machine was taken to the far end of the railway to move haylage bales for the deer. A new metal outrigger was then fitted to the rear bucket, giving the machine extra reach and height for future tasks—particularly useful when lifting cladding panels into position on the new shed.

Work continued on preparing and undercoating the mini‑digger, which is already looking much smarter. The final wall panel on the east side of the new shed was lifted into place, followed by the installation of horizontal trim rails and securing the tarpaulin roof sheet. With that elevation complete, attention can now shift to the north end wall and the exit doors.

After lunch, work resumed on the trolley project including the installation of the roof and on sorting cladding panels for the next stage of the shed build.

Meanwhile, the generator room continued to be cleared and the workshop water tank was refilled.

The railway is now looking neat, organised and ready for the Christmas break.
