A long and busy day on site, helped along by warm, dry and sunny weather unusual for the time of year. With the usual mid‑week team in, work continued steadily on several major tasks.
The first of two ballast lorries arrived just before 9 a.m., unloading into the designated area of the yard. The site machine was used to consolidate the pile to make space for the second delivery, which arrived early afternoon. In total, 40 tons of material were dropped off.
Elsewhere, the trailer loaded with timber baulks and panels from the weekend’s collection was fully unloaded and the materials stacked neatly under tarpaulins.
Work on the mini‑digger repaint continued, while a rear‑view mirror was fitted to one of the shunting vehicles to make manoeuvring easier.
Using the scaffold tower, the eaves extension pieces were installed on the shed roof purlins, preparing the structure for the final tarpaulin to be pulled over at the weekend.
Glazed cladding panels for the west side of the shed were sorted and the first ones fixed into place—still requiring a bit of imagination to picture the finished look, but the plan is taking shape.
Meanwhile, essential workshop tasks carried on in the background, keeping tools and equipment in good order.
