trolley 1st run

A cold but bright day with plenty of sunshine gave the mid‑week team a good chance to continue outdoor work while the weather held.
The long‑overdue repaint of the mini‑digger finally began—despite some light‑hearted attempts to convince the painter to add wasp stripes and go‑faster lines. Nearby, cleaning work started on the chassis of the dough wagon using an electric wire brush, while others focused on fitting the final purlins to the roof of the new shed.
Cladding preparation also moved forward, with fixing rails installed along one side of the structure and the glazed cladding panels sorted and set aside for use.
After lunch, another tarpaulin was pulled over the shed roof, giving the frame a snug, weather‑resistant cover that will make wall‑cladding work far easier.
Attention then shifted to the workshop, where several vehicles were moved out to allow proper test runs of the newly rebuilt trolley. With throttle, brakes and reverser now fitted, it performed impressively—climbing the bank with ease and showing good speed on the main line. A few team members took turns trying it out, adding to the sense of achievement.
Meanwhile, workshop repairs and equipment overhauls continued steadily in the background.
A lively and productive day with real progress across multiple projects.
