Team Effort Brings Roof Bay Together

frames

A welcome break from the recent unsettled weather made for a warm, dry day on site. With the full mid‑week team in, the main focus was on fitting the roof timbers for one of the sheds.
One volunteer wrapped up some final paint touch‑ups on a boiler before moving on to tidy up the mini‑digger. Two others tested the vehicle lifts in a neighbouring shed and even managed to fit in an oil change on a van.
Meanwhile, the scaffold tower was moved and extended so work could begin at roof height. Together we cut and fixed the gable extension pieces, then lifted the pre‑drilled timbers into position and bolted them to the truss brackets. It was fiddly work and a bit of a learning curve, but by the end of the day one full roof bay was in place.
Another team member positioned a wagon on the lifts ready for future cleaning and repainting, before returning to work on a trolley restoration. Others continued with ongoing workshop tasks.
A productive day all round, with steady teamwork making a real difference.
