Purlins Cut, Yard Cleared, Materials Moved

A misty, damp but warm day didn’t slow things down, even with a smaller Saturday team. Plenty of steady progress was made across several areas.
Work continued on installing the timber purlins for the new shed. The salvaged timber from New Hill proved long enough to span one and a half bays, meaning the twelve recovered lengths may be sufficient to complete the entire roof.
A saw table and new blade were brought in so that the large square timbers from the power station could be cut into 40 mm battens, ready to serve as cladding rails for the same structure.
Elsewhere, more clearing took place in the yard, removing organic debris and uncovering several bulk bags of sand and ballast. After lunch, the site machine was brought down to help move all the bulk bags to an area beside another shed, where the material will be used as fill near the boiler display.
Meanwhile, workshop tasks continued steadily, including topping up the water tank and giving a couple of wheelbarrows some much‑needed attention.
A productive day overall, especially given the smaller team and the damp conditions.
