A grey but mild and dry day meant we could press on with a wide range of jobs. The dumper truck was moved out of the way of the new path works—and to everyone’s delight, it started on the first try.
A team then dug out the bufferstop at the end of one shed road and shifted it to the workshop area for future refurbishment. After that, several vehicles were moved forward, including two low wagons and the passenger train. Both locomotives started instantly, and even the mini‑digger joined the streak by firing up first turn.
The digger was unloaded and put straight to work levelling more of the floor inside the new shed frame. Elsewhere, fouling marks were fitted in the locations previously set out, wagon cleaning continued, and work progressed steadily on a trolley restoration.
After lunch, more tidying took place in the yard, including creating a properly graded fire‑exit path behind one of the sheds. Meanwhile, workshop tasks continued, along with an overhaul of the site’s petrol strimmers and brush cutters.
A full and productive day, with plenty of visible progress across the site.
